I want to thank Sierra Pacific Power, nee Nevada Energy for getting the lights back on so quickly. Only 1 hour in the dark, dark night...sometimes I wish we had more of them. Power outages are a way of life in the winter up here, generally caused by some yahoo driving too fast for the icy conditions and downing a power pole. I don't know if that is what happened last night and if so I sincerely hope no one was injured. However it is an object lesson don't try going fast on icy nights life is too short to be in that kind of hurry.

Both of these Lake Tahoe houses are going for $199,000. They are both on the least expensive Lake Tahoe search list. Both need lots of TLC and both have the potential for a second rental unit. How do you chose which is the better value? Location, location, location. Remember buy the best you can afford in the best neighborhood and you can rarely go wrong in the resale department. The unit on top has a view of Lake Tahoe which automatically adds value to the property. The lower photo is in an area that still has quite a bit going for it. You could walk to Lake Tahoe instead of just looking at it, in fact you can walk to almost everything. So if that works for you pick that one. North Lake Tahoe 3 day weekend continues

Life in North Lake Tahoe is good. The sun burns, like a twenty watt bulb...through the fog. The sky is bluish with patches of bluer peeking out. The lake gently rippled by light breezes. My new real estate office is across from the beach in Kings Beach a town rumoured to have been won in a poker game...more about these things later. We are currently celebrating the 50Th anniversary of the 1960 Olympic Games at Squaw Valley with all sorts of activities. It is also the 60th anniversary of Sugar Bowl Ski area, go try out their new lifts.

Keep praying for snow, we really need to fill up Lake Tahoe so that we have plenty of water to play in this summer.
